Our offer

The Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Chorus, from Łódź in central Poland, was founded in 1969 and now brings a less familiar piece of its rich repertoire to the Hungarian audience. There is hardly a Polish composer who has not made a mark in the genre of sacred music: this is true of the composer brothers Paweł and Marcin Łukaszewski, who both are in their fifties, as well as of two icons of modern music, Penderecki and Górecki. Finally, our orchestra's concert, conducted by Róbert Farkas, will feature a piece of Christian music, which was written by its composer in his mother tongue to the verses of the Bible: A German Requiem. We also know that Brahms preferred to use the adjective 'human' for his requiem, which this time features the talented young soprano singer Natália Tuznik and the German baritone Holger Falk, equally at home in the theatre and opera genres.

Bence Bogányi has been previously employed as principal bassooninst of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, he is the winner of numerous competitions, and he has worked with masters such as Christian Thielemann and Lorin Maazel. The bassoon, with a range extending well beyond three octaves and capable of the most varied colours, was already a popular concert instrument in the Baroque period, despite its low register. It inspired Handel, and Mozart wrote his Bassoon Concerto in 1774, at the age of eighteen, which has remained an irreplaceable piece in the repertoire ever since. A suite from an opera by Czech Romantic master Bedřich Smetana will also be performed, as well as Wagner's surprise Christmas present, Siegfried Idyll, written for his wife and child.

An afternoon bullfight and the prayer of the bullfighters are evoked in a composition by Joaquín Turina from the last century, conducted by Péter Csaba. Our concert continues with a piece by Ottorino Respighi, a unique figure in Italian music, who has a passion for classical forms and sounds of past centuries. The title of his violin concerto, Concerto all'antica refers to this, or rather to his gallant style. The brilliant piece is performed by the orchestra's violinist Dávid Pintér. But it was also under the spell of classicism, or more precisely under the influence of the Salzburg master, that Schubert composed Symphony No. 5. The composer wrote in his diary: "Oh, Mozart, immortal Mozart! What seeds of a brighter, more beautiful life have you planted in our souls!"

The clarinet is one of the orchestra's most virtuosic instruments: it hums in the low register, squeals in the high, and is capable of fast roulades and wide dynamics. Especially when there are two of them, as in Mendelssohn's serene concert piece. The work is performed by two young virtuosi, Rebeka Takács and Benedek Herr, who are students of our orchestra's clarinetist, Pál Sólyomi. The concert will also feature excerpts from Grieg's incidental music to the drama Peer Gynt. Two movements (Morning Mood and In the Hall of the Mountain King) are in themselves popular. The conductor's podium at this youth concert will once again be taken by a promising talent: Nátán Sugár, a student pianist of the Department for Special Talents at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

Olaszországi kirándulást ígér zenekarunk hangversenye, amely a XIX. század ünnepelt nagybőgővirtuózát, Giovanni Bottesinit is megidézi egy romantikus operabetét erejéig. Ezután Paganini komoly és mély érzelmeket is kifejező h-moll hegedűversenye következik. A darab lassú tételét, mely egy szívhez szóló imádság, két, hangszeres bravúrokkal teli tétel keretezi, majd egy népszerű nápolyi dal feldolgozását halljuk, a „La campanella”-t („Harangok”).

The musicians of our orchestra prepare their favorite pieces for the interactive program recommended for 0-3 year-old children. Edit Székely, the mastermind behind the series, is a flute-player and music teacher, who will make the event even more exciting with children’s songs and plays.

Alig találunk ikonikusabb alkotást az operairodalomban a Toscánál, amely Victorien Sardou francia drámaíró színdarabjának feldolgozásaként, Puccini zsenialitásának köszönhetően nyerte el a remekműveknek kijáró öröklétet. A főszerepekben ezúttal olyan hazai kiválóságokat hallunk, mint Rálik Szilvia, Fekete Attila és Molnár Levente. A zenekart az opera műfajának nem hivatalos nagykövete, a Liszt Ferenc-díjas Kesselyák Gergely vezényli.
