Alig találunk ikonikusabb alkotást az operairodalomban a Toscánál, amely Victorien Sardou francia drámaíró színdarabjának feldolgozásaként, Puccini zsenialitásának köszönhetően nyerte el a remekműveknek kijáró öröklétet. A XVIII. század végén, Rómában játszódó történet thriller és sorstragédia a nőről, akinek személyes ambíciók, politikai megfontolások és a szerelem között kell választania. Puccini darabját annak nagyszerű betétjei, a Levélária vagy Vissi d’arte is a közönség kedvencévé teszik. A főszerepekben ezúttal olyan kiváló énekeseket hallunk, mint Rálik Szilvia, Fekete Attila, Molnár Levente, további szereplők Hábetler András, Bakonyi Marcell és Böjte Sándor. Közreműködik a Marosvásárhelyi Állami Filharmónia Vegyeskara. A zenekart az opera műfajának nem hivatalos nagykövete, a Liszt Ferenc-díjas Kesselyák Gergely vezényli.

Olaszországi kirándulást ígér zenekarunk hangversenye, amely a XIX. század ünnepelt nagybőgővirtuózát, Giovanni Bottesinit is megidézi egy romantikus operabetét erejéig. Ezután Paganini komoly és mély érzelmeket is kifejező h-moll hegedűversenye következik. A darab lassú tételét, mely egy szívhez szóló imádság, két, hangszeres bravúrokkal teli tétel keretezi, majd egy népszerű nápolyi dal feldolgozását halljuk, a „La campanella”-t („Harangok”).

An afternoon bullfight and the prayer of the bullfighters are evoked in a composition by Joaquín Turina from the last century, conducted by Péter Csaba. Our concert continues with a piece by Ottorino Respighi, a unique figure in Italian music, who has a passion for classical forms and sounds of past centuries. The title of his violin concerto, Concerto all'antica refers to this, or rather to his gallant style. The brilliant piece is performed by the orchestra's violinist Dávid Pintér. But it was also under the spell of classicism, or more precisely under the influence of the Salzburg master, that Schubert composed Symphony No. 5. The composer wrote in his diary: "Oh, Mozart, immortal Mozart! What seeds of a brighter, more beautiful life have you planted in our souls!"

The Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Chorus, from Łódź in central Poland, was founded in 1969 and now brings a less familiar piece of its rich repertoire to the Hungarian audience. There is hardly a Polish composer who has not made a mark in the genre of sacred music: this is true of the composer brothers Paweł and Marcin Łukaszewski, who both are in their fifties, as well as of two icons of modern music, Penderecki and Górecki. Finally, our orchestra's concert, conducted by Róbert Farkas, will feature a piece of Christian music, which was written by its composer in his mother tongue to the verses of the Bible: A German Requiem. We also know that Brahms preferred to use the adjective 'human' for his requiem, which this time features the talented young soprano singer Natália Tuznik and the German baritone Holger Falk, equally at home in the theatre and opera genres.
